George Michael's first three solo singles all went to No. 1: Careless Whisper (1984), A Different Corner (1986) and I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me) (1987, with Aretha Franklin). The fourth, I Want Your Sex (1987) only reached No. 3, and the fifth (Faith, also 1987) went one better but failed to make No. 1. (Some wondered whether Faith might have been his first No. 1.)
He had four more UK No. 1s: Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Me (1991), Five Live (EP, 1993), Jesus to a Child (1996) and Fastlove (also 1996). His last Top 10 hit was Flawless (Go to the City) in 2004.
